1. Every Governor and every person discharging the functions of Governor shall take an oath to faithfully execute the office and to preserve , protect and defend the Constitution and the law -LRB- article 159 -RRB- .
   राज्यपाल तथा राज्यपाल के कृत्यों का निर्वाह करने वाला हर व्यक्ति यह शपथ लेगा कि वह श्रद्धापूर्वक पद का कार्यपालन करेगा और संविधान एवं विधि का परिरक्षण , संरक्षण और प्रतिरक्षण करेगा ( अनुच्छेद 159 ) .
